Hi all,
The WMBC has wrapped up our 2010 WMBC Rider Survey for Galbraith Mountain.
We'd like to thank the 739 respondents who took a few minutes to fill this
out and give us their feedback. It not only gives us a snapshot of the
ridership, but it also shows the importance mt. biking has to the residents
of Bellingham, Whatcom County and the region.
Attached you'll find the summary information with further analysis, but
below are some highlights of our respondents.
. 82% are men
. 40.1% fall into the 30-39 age group.
. 36.8% visit Galby multiple times per week
. 52.8% use both the north and south side to access the hill.
. 46.6% have 10+ years of riding experience
. 65.4% of riders participate in "all mountain" riding, 39.6% ride
XC, 41.4% FR, 36% DH
Non-B'ham residents:
. 67.4% of non-b'ham residents have bought parts or services from a
local shop in the past year.
. 94.4 % of non-b'ham residents purchase other items from businesses
while riding Galby.
Thanks again to everyone that participated. The comments given
(constructive) were all appreciated and it seems folks generally are stoked
with the direction of the hill. Also, I've got to give props to Daniel
Probst who took a sunny morning/afternoon to hand out surveys on the Birch
Street entrance. We'll post this info. up on the WMBC website as well.
Cheers,
EB
